Riverdale Season 2B Review

Happy Friday. Finals are getting to me, and I am currently buried in work. This week New Girl ended forever and my heart still hurts. I also got into a show Penny Dreadful which is my new obsession. With Riverdale having its season finale this week, I could not wait for the ultimate ending to this up and down season. Part B was so much better than A. Even with the Black Hood story line back in the later episodes of this season, it felt like better story telling and writing. We got to see the core four together and even with unnecessary plot lines and bad writing, this was a step up from part A. As always I go through every episode in great detail, and share my opinions of each one. There are so many spoilers, so if you don't want any then go to the bottom, for the summary review of the season. Hope you enjoy my rants on Riverdale Season 2 Part B.

S02 E10 Chapter Twenty-Three: The Blackboard Jungle

My hype for the season premiere was high since all the trailers showed promise for the rest of season two. We start off right after Christmas where we see all of the characters trying to go back to their normal lives. They did get rid of the Black Hood, but it did not flow very well. Southside High has been shut down and most of the Serpents are now going to Riverdale. This leads to sides forming once again since both Reggie and Cheryl are not happy that they are at their school. Veronica and the rest are all happy to help them but this division leads to problems.
Archie is being interrogated by a FBI agent about the Lodges and the crimes they are possibly committing. Archie agrees to help as long as his dad and Veronica are not involved. The show continues on with Cheryl blackmailing Archie about his kiss with Betty, so that he will side with the North. Once Archie has found out about Nick from the FBI, he asks Cheryl what happened and this leads to her to telling him about what almost happened to Veronica. The two strike a deal where he will get money from Nick for Cheryl and she will not tell Veronica about the kiss. He is also doing this for the FBI agent to find out more on what the Lodges did to the St. Clairs. He later goes to visit Nick in his dorm and asks for the money. Nick, being himself, starts taunting Archie resulting in him beating him up. Veronica finds out what happened, so Archie and Cheryl tell her everything except the kiss. Archie is the one to finally tell her that he and Betty kissed later on but reassures her that it meant nothing and they are good. However, I know Veronica is still upset.

This means that BARCHIE IS SHUT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!

Jughead is being even more of an idiot. He will not take off his Serpent jacket at school, even though they clearly do not allow gang stuff. This means he wears it despite the warning and ends up getting suspended. He also goes on a whiny tangent on how the Serpents do not shed their skin, but all the others Serpents are like "Who cares? We finally have a better education" and FP is like "Lay low and stop being stupid." I want Jughead to be a better character again as he was my favorite in season one and I miss my bean.

Betty is on a whole different level of idiocy with Polly finally having had the twins. By the way, the names are so stupid and Polly has most likely joined a cult. Because of the fact Polly has abandoned her family, Betty decides to find out who her brother is for her mother. Alice and Betty track him down and they go to see him. He is not happy with this and it leads to an awkward encounter. Chic is very weird and I do not trust him at all. Betty takes a chance to go see him again where she ends up finding him in trouble and rescues him. She brings him back home and the family patches him up, allowing him to stay there. The episode ends with him standing over Betty while she sleeps.

So my least favorite moments for this episode were slim, and I am very happy with how the rest of the season is going so far. I do not like the plot of Polly and the twins and her possibly being in a cult. I also hate that Cheryl's mother is now a prostitute. The Black Hood stuff was pushed to the side as well as the fact that Cheryl was stalking Josie. My biggest problem was Jughead being whiny and annoying.

My favorite parts of this episode were the beautiful Bughead scene and the fact that my babies will be okay by the next two episodes. Archie kicking Nick's butt was nice to watch. Veronica is being a peach and I really like her now. I am also liking the other Serpents and I totally see Kevin and Fangs getting together as well as possibly Cheryl and Toni. FP is the true MVP once again. Finally, Archie coming clean about that stupid kiss and he thinks the Black Hood stuff is not over which means it'll have a far better ending than that abrupt one.

S02 E11: Chapter Twenty-Four: The Wrestler

This was the episode of shade. We start out with Jughead being his moody self and talking about a founder's day celebrations coming up, Pickens Day. This transitions into Cheryl talking about how  the Blossoms founded the town and this starts to get into some interesting territory.
The main plot of the episode is Archie and Hiram's feud. Archie is still trying to get info on him, but it goes deeper into a battle between the two when he goes to try for wrestling and attempts to beat him at everything. The shade is amazing from both of them and it's so funny to watch. After back and forth banter in the episode, Archie beats Chuck in a match and Hiram finally sees some potential in Archie. Their story ends with mutual respect.

Veronica is helping with both Lodge Industries and setting up for the founder's day celebration. She recruits Josie to sing with her and the Pussycats. However with the drama with Mayor McCoy, she tells her daughter, Josie, that Veronica is in the family business and using her. Josie has a fight with Veronica about this, but Veronica just wants to help.

Jughead finds out that the Serpents were killed off by the Blossoms and the Pickens when Riverdale was founded and publishes an article explaining it all. This story is from Toni's grandfather and once the story is out, everyone is mad at him. (EN: Because it wasn't his story to tell...) Jughead finally realizes that this was not a good thing to do. The Serpents do a silent protest at the celebration, and Hiram being the businessman that he is, takes it into his own hands.

Now with Betty, I am not happy with the direction her story is going. Her brother, Chic, is a gigolo and that is how he gets by. She feels like he has the same darkness inside as she does and wants him to help her with it. She keeps trying to make him feel like one of them but Hal keeps pushing him out. There are some very awkward dinner conversations included. Alice wants him to stay, but I can see that Hal does not want anything to do with him. At the end, we see Chic showing Betty the stuff he does and in the preview for next week, we see Dark Betty once again. We also get a hint that Chic is most likely not Hal's but is really FP's and I am not happy that they are pulling a Gossip Girl on Riverdale. Also, Penelope and Hal sleep together.

The shade made the episode and Kevin pinning Archie was hilarious. I do not like the direction they are taking with Betty and I know next episode will not be peachy.

S02 E12: Chapter Twenty-Five: The Wicked and the Divine

MY GOD, I AM SO HAPPY!

Let's start with the fact that I have screamed more during this episode than any other in a long time. I am screaming of pure happiness and I can't right now. I am crying.

Lets start off with Archie. He is doing more for Hiram, completely doing his bidding. This is all happening while Veronica's Confirmation is going on. With her family and Hiram's business partners in town, Archie is being introduced to all of this at once. Archie is a waiter for Hiram during a poker game with his "friends". During it, he oversees a threat aimed for Hiram. Archie tells him during the party and goes to find Veronica. At the end, we see Archie getting in deeper with the FBI.

Veronica is focused on her Confirmation and keeping Archie out of the family business. She feels conflicted with everything and tells Archie to stay away from her father. Josie and her mother also apologize for what happened between all of them, but I can still see that tensions are high in that scene.

Now it's time for the good stuff. Jughead and Betty are suspended from the Blue and Gold because of the article that Jughead posted. He is of course upset and Betty and him finally talk. She asks if anything happened with him and Toni, and he tells her all that has. But when he asks her the same thing, she lies about what happened with Archie. Still, some of it is finally resolved. With the location of the head of the statue being up in the air, resulting in the Serpents being evicted from their homes, Betty and Jughead are back to being a detective duo and go hunting for clues. More talking happens and I am happy. Stuff gets real after this as Penny is back and she wants Jughead out of the Serpents. FP and Jughead have a huge fight and FP cannot believe that he cut Penny. So while Veronica has her Confirmation party, Jughead tells Betty all of this. He finally tells her that after their breakup, life has been a mess and he is sorry for everything. Betty gets a call and they find out where the statue's head was and who did it. It was Tall Boy. They go to the Whyte Wyrm and the Serpents take down Tall Boy where he gets stripped of his jacket. He did all of this to get Jughead and subsequently FP out. My favorite moment is after they walk in, when Tall Boy asks why this Northsider is here and  Jughead says she is one of us. She is also included in the vote to kick Tall Boy Out. Flash forward to the two of them sitting in the trailer and it is awkward. Jughead tells her that he is sorry for everything and that he will be apologizing for the rest of their lives! She is happy that they are a 'we' again, and as she is about to leave, he grabs her hand and asks her to stay! He goes on to say stay, and she says I want all of you, I want all of you tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN'T RIGHT NOW! She gets on his lap and as they start to make out and it is so sexy and they finally after waiting for months and months, they have sex!!!!!!!!!!!!! (EN: She's still hiding stuff from him) I am not happy that Betty is not communicating, but finally Jughead does. So after months of tension between them, I get to see happiness again. I am crying, and I am happy.

This episode is my favorite of the season so far. However, after Betty comes home in the morning, she sees blood on the floor. Alice is cleaning and there is a dead body beside her.

Side note: Betty being a call girl is horrible and I hate that plot. My favorite moments were all the Bughead scenes and the mob boss vibes.

S02 E13: Chapter Twenty-Six: The Tell-Tale Heart

Why is there another murder? We start right where we left off with Betty's reaction to her mother cleaning up the blood. Since Hal calls, Betty decides to help and they clean up everything. Betty goes into OCD mode and is crazy focused. Jughead calls her to say goodnight and tell her that he loves her, but she is so distracted that she hangs up. The morning after Betty wakes up and remembering what happened, begins going crazy with flashbacks. Jughead picks her up for school and is worried since they slept together now that it was bad. Of course, it was not and she tells him that family drama happened.

We switch over to Archie being harassed by the FBI agent, who is now threatening Fred, so Archie tells Hiram everything and he is going to take care of it.

Veronica is worried that her father was involved with one of his friend's death and is going crazy over it. Archie tells Hiram this and he goes to his daughter. Veronica can see that he is lying, but she knows its for the best. In another plot line, Veronica organizes a settlement with her father and the Serpents. She wants them to agree with the terms regarding the statue head and save the trailer park. It does not work, so the Lodges come up with a plan to take the town from Mayor McCoy. They know about her affair with the sheriff, and Veronica tells the mayor that her parents have a plan to take her down. Hearing this, Mayor McCoy decides to step down and resign.

We're back to Archie who gets a call to meet that night after telling Hiram everything. However, instead of Hiram, it is Hermione. She tells him that the whole FBI agent thing was a hoax and it was to test his loyalty. He passed with flying colors since he told Hiram everything.

Cheryl sees that Betty is messed up and she knows that Hal and Penelope are having an affair. She decides to tell Betty and points to Cheryl for being amazing once again.

The main plot of this episode was Betty and the murder. Betty starts to go crazy and goes to find the body again. She takes his phone and calls every number to see who the guy truly was. She finds out he was a drug dealer and that Chic was lying to her. She confronts him, but Alice just keeps protecting him. Betty finally crumbles and she tells Jughead everything. Jughead looked so hot in that scene, I can't. He is shocked, but when the police see that the abandoned car is there, Jughead decides to help. They dump the car in the river like idiots as well as the phone. Betty tells her mother that there are too many things that are not tied up and they need to do something, so they go to FP. Why bring this bean back into this stuff?

Jughead tells FP and he helps them get rid of the body for good. After all of this, they sit at Pop's, and you see that Alice and FP totally have a thing. If you also look at Chic, you see that he is not Hal's, so they are going forward with that plot. Hal comes home later and Betty tells him that if he comes back, she will tell Alice about the affair. This is when we see that Chic is lying and that he is happy that this is all happening.

We end this episode with what happened with Archie. Even though it was directed by the creator of Vampire Diaries and The Originals, I did not hate this episode. The plot was not the best and I am not happy with the way things are going. My Bughead babies are great and I am happy about that. I do not like FP being involved in this mess, and I totally see FP and Alice becoming a thing.

S02 E14: Chapter Twenty-Seven: The Hills Have Eyes

Ah, my happiness is back after a month long break. I'm going to divide this episode into two parts, so enjoy.

The Core Four
We start with Hiram letting Veronica have the family cabin for the weekend since he has to stay in town for business. Stupid, I know, to let your 16 year old and her boyfriend plus some friends have a whole cabin to themselves primarily unsupervised. He still has Andre watching over them, and Archie knows, but still.
Jughead is still angry with the Lodges so he goes into interrogation mode with Veronica and sees this weekend as a breakthrough while Betty just needs a break from Chic and her family since Chic is becoming majorly creepy. Betty tells Jughead not to go full journalist mode and they share an adorable moment. He kisses her forehead!
They arrive to the cabin all happy when Jughead gets a call from Cheryl. She tells Jughead about the kiss between Archie and Betty. Finally! Right away, he asks Betty why she kissed Archie and what we saw in the previews happens. They talk it out and life is good. It's still a bit awkward, but at least this secret is over.
Jughead goes into cop mode again with Veronica, but she takes it as Jughead being upset about the kiss so she decides to take action.
They all end up in the hot tub and she proposes that Jughead and her kiss, so then the issue is over, but it was still weird. Jughead agrees, but I think it's not for that reason and I do not understand why yet. After that happens, Jughead and Veronica kiss. This brings out dom Betty and I screamed into my pillow.
Archie is totally upset that this happened, but Betty takes action. Bughead get very spicy in the bedroom, and I was living for it.  After that mess is fixed, Veronica wakes up to Archie and Andre talking, so she takes off with Betty into town. Troubled waters for Varchie. We get a bro moment between Archie and Jughead where he apologies about what happened with Betty. Veronica and Betty have a great girl talk as well and everything is chill.
Veronica and Archie talk thing out and the gang all plays Monopoly. This is when Betty gets a call from her mom that Hiram bought the Register and a fight ensues. Betty and Jughead start accusing Veronica and her family of taking over Riverdale. Hiram has also bought Sunnyside Trailer Park and the Serpents are free to live there. They all start fighting and some clever shade is thrown, especially when Veronica calls Bughead tragic and Betty basically calls Veronica a slut.
This is interrupted by three hooded men (not the Black Hood) breaking into the cabin. They make the teens get down and demand their money. One takes Veronica to get her purse upstairs where she hits the silent panic button. Right before the armed men start to trash the place, the alarms go off and they run. Of course, Archie goes after them since they took Ronnie's necklace. He catches up to one where he finds Andre already there. Archie leaves and hears a gun shot. He knows what Andre did.
We end with them sitting in a booth talking about how Archie was lucky to not catch them, so Archie is now lying once again to Ronnie. Hiram and Archie are also the only ones who know what really happened. We end the episode with Betty being right where she started, uncomfortable in her own home.

The other beans!
Cheryl is upset that she was not invited to the cabin, so she tells Jughead about the kiss. Toni walks into the room after the phone call, asking if she was all right. Cheryl goes in defense mode and naturally states her status before leaving. Her home life is still a mess with her mother still a prostitute. We cut to Josie walking in on the sheriff and the mayor. Josie did not know about them, and she also finds out that her parents are going to get a divorce. She does not like how Kevin does not know about this or that his mom is overseas and does not know either. She has a talk with Kevin and chooses to tell him everything.
On that note, Moose asks Kevin if he wants to go out with him and Midge saying she is cool with it, but Kevin says no. After finding out about his dad, he eats dinner with them and it's adorable. Midge knows nothing about them, but it's really cute on how they are trying to covering it up. Josie and her mom fight about how Josie told Kevin, saying that was not her place to do so. She goes to apologize to Kevin and they watch Love, Simon together. Nice promotion Riverdale, I see you. After the movie Josie and Kevin sit down with their parents and start to discuss what is going on and how tackle this mess head on. I love them finally talking through things and trying to get it resolved.
Cheryl also goes to that movie but alone. Toni shows up and of course, Cheryl is on the defense, but Fangs apparently left Toni stranded. Cheryl finally breaks down that she is not okay, and Toni gives her a great talk and they watch the movie together. After the movie they also go to Pop's. Toni likes how she saw Cheryl cry in the movie, and Cheryl breaks down on how she loved someone, but her mother would not let her. Toni calls her sensational and gives her the best advice. We find out that Cheryl is bisexual and liked a girl in junior high, but her mother forbade it. It's a beautiful start to the ship that is Choni!

Overall, a great episode that only had a few attacks of rage and heartbreak. It's a filler, but my babies are happy and everyone is at the moment, content with everything. Even though the covered up murder is still a thing and it needs to go away.

S02 E15: Chapter Twenty-Eight: There Will Be Blood

Lovely Jughead starts off this episode with trying to figure out how to get Hiram's secret out. FP finds out about the Register and is shocked. Fred might run for mayor, but under the Lodges' watch. Hal finally tells Alice he wants a divorce and with Betty there, but she is on her father's side with the Chic situation. Clifford Blossom's will is finally out and is going to be shared with the public. Then we have Kevin talking to Chic online at Betty's request. We finally get to see the twins, and Polly wants the Blossom money.

Cheryl asks Toni to come with her to the reading, so there's a little Choni moment. Jughead and the Coopers go to Pop to ask why he sold Pop's. We get to see the reading and the will is divided up into two. Cheryl gets half and as she says a few words Clifford seemingly walks in. THE IDIOT IS SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD! It is actually his twin cause we're going to do this stupid plot line. He explains his back story which no one believes.

Veronica is digging deep with Archie to get his father's campaign up and running. Betty and Kevin keep going with scamming Chic, but Chic finally sees that Kevin is lying and obviously looking at another person in the room.

Archie is helping Jughead with the Hiram scheme, so they go to Josie and her mom to see what they think about Fred going for Mayor.
Pop goes to Hiram and tells him what Jughead has been asking, so Veronica covers for him saying she told him, this way Archie is not in the red. FP tells Jughead that he will go on record since he has done stuff for Hiram before.

Veronica goes ham on Archie and Fred decides to go for Mayor. Chic is still creepy as heck. Jughead goes to meet with the caller and its from SMITHERS! He tells Jughead some inside stuff. Polly and Betty are concerned about Chic and do not find him safe. He takes the babies for a walk and nothing bad happens, but still not cool. Jughead and FP go on the inside and find someone from FP's jail days. Archie and Hiram talk about Fred and how he does not want anything bad to happen to him. There's also a Choni dinner with the psycho family!

Polly decides to leave and Jughead goes public about his story after he finds out what happened in the prison. Hiram bought Southside High so he could build a prison in its place. As the story is about to go out, Hiram tells Fred the news in advance and it does not go well. Archie and his dad are now in turmoil since Archie decides to stay while his father leaves. Baby Bughead being supportive is a plus.

Instead of Fred, Hermione is now running for Mayor. Then we have Betty going after Chic about not telling them everything since she got the blood sample. Cheryl overhears her uncle and Mom talking about taking out her Nana and her. Then we end the episode with Archie selling his soul to the Lodges and how he is in now truly in with them.

Good episode The Choni was life and now we wait for next week.

S02 E16: Chapter Twenty-Nine: Primary Colors

This show is going in a very bad direction once again. At this point, I am watching Riverdale for Bughead and Cheryl. That's it. I do like the other characters but the plot points are so far off and leave something to be desired. I know I get crazy with this show, but I keep getting so hyped up just to be let down.

In the episode, we start off with with Betty and Chic talking about how he is not related to the Blossom line. Basically he is totally FP's son. I know Alice said he isn't when Betty asked but they are going to pull that card, I know it. After that fight, we go into Hal asking Hermione about her running for Mayor for the Register and this leads Veronica to running for School President even though it is against her parents' wishes. Jughead is super mad, and everyone is so upset about the prison being built on Southside High. Jughead, of course, decides to go on a hunger strike for Southside. He is not being a peach. I mean, I get where he is coming from, but come on, Jughead. Things get very Glee when Ethel finally comes back and throws a milkshake on Veronica. Veronica stays calm and asks Betty to be her running mate. She accepts so B and V are a team now. Reggie does go off since he is also running and Veronica punches him in the face.

When we cut back, we see Toni doing a stripper scene of a dance routine for the Vixens. Everyone is impressed and now she is on the team. If I did that dance on my cheer team, I would have been smacked and probably kicked off so not realistic at all. Cheryl has a weird feeling going on in her home, so she asks the inner circle to come over for a sleepover. The scene where the five of them are brushing each others hair is weird, but I kinda dig it. Cheryl tells them what is going on, and she also calls Toni "TT" and my heart melted. They share her bed and we almost got a kiss scene until a big bang. Nana Rose has been "pushed" off the staircase. Cheryl's scream is amazing.

Mary Andrews is back to help Fred with getting out of the Lodges' contract. Jughead starts a protest with the Serpents and they chain themselves to Southside High. Also why was the Serpents wearing a uniform only a one day thing? What was even the point of that? Betty walks in to Chic and Kevin talking. It turns out they kept the chat going and Chic knows about the catfish. Betty is very mad.
Now that this thing is going on with the Lodges and the Andrews, Archie is taking the Lodges' side so family drama there as well.

With Jughead being more angsty than usual, I get another adorable scene and a cute little kiss as Betty brings them all coffee. Back at the school, Veronica does a kissing booth for her campaign and also asks for Josie to be a sponsor. Veronica tries to patch things with Ethel but it's not working. Josie and Veronica do a song to show that she has support for Veronica. I did like the girl power speech. Then Ethel starts to hand out flyers that have certain secrets of Veronica's. This was apart of Josie's plan, so her and Ethel were in cahoots. The main message is that she knew about the prison and Betty is furious. She is not running with her anymore and is done. So B and V are not in a good place either.

Alice finds out about Betty and Jughead including how they are sleeping together. Chic went through her stuff and gave her mother her black wig. Great way to find out about that. Later, we do see Alice asking if they are using protection and being safe, so finally there's some good parenting involved. We also get info about FP and Alice's past. FP and Jughead have an adorable moment and Jughead finally eats. Jughead's monologue is moving and that boy is very smart. He also finally comes up with a better way to get Riverdale the help it needs.

Mary is staying to help Fred run for mayor, but before that she tells Archie off for disrespecting his father and I just gotta say, thank you for that scene. Cheryl keeps an eye on her Nana and knows what is really going on. Her mom finds out and takes her away. Betty tries to make amends with Chic per her mother's request. This leads to Chic being scared of Betty, but that boy has major problems anyway. Hiram asks Archie to take down the protest, so he does and and Jughead leaves peacefully, but that friendship is so strained.

My babies have a wonderful moment. Jughead asks Betty to run with him for president. This boy! I cannot! I love him and those heart eyes. They are the power couple. She accepts right away and says she is done with Veronica. Betty has one condition which is she has to stay with Jughead since she cannot be around Chic anymore. Of course, he says okay and I get another cute kiss. After Fred says he is running for Mayor, the show gets bad. Cheryl has been taken to the Sisters of Quiet Mercy, and is basically being tortured by them. Why does Cheryl always get the trauma? I cannot with this anymore. We are now at a point of too many whys.

This episode was boring and not very useful. My babies are good, but the plot is going downhill again.

S02 E17: Chapter Thirty: The Noose Tightens

The shade has been thrown in the first five minutes. My hatred for what is going on with Cheryl has me not liking the plot already. Basically, she is in conversion therapy. They also show a 50s movie where Cheryl dreams it is actually Kevin and Moose. It's cool, but not a good representation of the plot. We see the candidates for student president at Riverdale High: Jughead/Betty, Archie/Veronica, and Josie/Reggie. Mama Cooper is the mediator and questions are being asked. Betty is staying with the Jones and she will not talk with her mother. Hiram is in deep and his business partners want to talk.

The car has finally been found and obviously that would bite them in the butt, so the Coopers and Jones are on high alert. Archie wants to be in with Hiram and he is now. Jughead wants the Serpents' votes, but they won't since Betty is his running mate. They don't like how she has bad blood because of her mother. While this is going on, the conversion therapy is getting worse and I hate that plot. (Editor's notes: BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT HANDLING IT RIGHT) Since Archie is now getting in with Hiram, he is becoming more stupid by the second. On a good note, my detective duo is back, trying to cover up the situation they are in by asking questions. I love them. Also Jughead uses the nose thing again and I can't.

Alice finds out about Betty and Jughead's plan, so a family discussion is in place. Chic will move out, so Betty is now back at home. With Cheryl, I still can't and the sisters are making her life a living hell. Toni, Josie, and Veronica ask Penelope about the whereabouts of Cheryl. Josie finds out about the drawing and knows that Cheryl threatened her. Betty wants a tattoo to show the young Serpents that she is in with them. Her mom is not for it and this is when Chic shows up with the girlfriend of the guy they killed. Of course she is shady and wants 10,000 to stay quiet. I'm not surprised they are running this bad plot point. Then Archie and Veronica are walking home, and they see Andre getting beaten up by a guy in a black hood. Archie immediately reacts and finds out it is the fake FBI guy, Adams.

With the trouble at the Lodges, they are under deep protection. Nana Rose knows where Cheryl is and calls Toni to tell her. Antoinette is Toni's real name and I love it. Shout out to Nana Rose for taking matters into her own frail hands. Betty cannot come home and her mother calls her to tell her. Of course, she doesn't listen and the girlfriend and her thug want more. Jughead and the Serpents break down the door and come in figurative guns ablazing. The Serpents threaten them about how they have people on the inside, so they leave. BEST MOMENT OF THE SEASON! (Editor's notes: not really, but still pretty awesome)

Alice finally realizes that Betty was right and apologizes, kicking Chic out of the house. Archie has a plan to help the Lodges and does not show up for his father's mayor speech. Instead he asks Reggie for help. Veronica and Toni have a plan to save Cheryl with the help of Kevin. It turns out that the Sisters have a secret tunnel into their building. They save Cheryl and Toni and Cheryl finally kiss. YES!!! Also their hand holding is adorable. Of course, the show then has to make the Red Circle thing happen again except they are now the Black Circle and they blow up the car of the men that are threatening the Lodges. I can't again.

Alice apologizes to the Serpents and they accept it. She is also now at FP's place, so Falice might actually happen. Archie gets a car from the Lodges for what he has done, but his mother says she does not know who he is anymore. (EN: She isn't the only one) Lastly, we see Cheryl and Toni happy together, while Cheryl plots revenge and claims she is going to be Carrie in the upcoming musical.

The episode had good points that I loved, but also ones I hated so mixed reviews overall, but it ended on a high note.

S02 E18: Chapter Thirty-One: A Night To Remember

Let the musical begin. Riverdale High is performing Carrie the musical. The episode starts off with a song and the singing is good. It's still weird that they are doing a musical. Everyone is playing a character that is similar to their image in the actual show. Jughead is recording the behind the scenes on video while Kevin is the director. This episode is going to be full of surprises.

Cheryl is obsessed with playing Carrie, and everyone is on edge about working with one another. After Cheryl almost gets hit with a sand bag, Kevin gets a message from the Black Hood to recast Carrie. He only tells Jughead, but they think it's just a prank. More musical numbers happen and Archie is worried about his dad finding out about the car from the Lodges.
Jughead tells Betty about what's happening and they go to Ethel assuming that she wrote the letter about Cheryl since her dislike of her is evident. They were not subtle about it in the slightest, failing horribly.
FP and Alice are so a thing, but he wants nothing to do with her. As Alice leaves she says that they are the ones making the mistakes, not the kids. The musical goes on and Cheryl apologizes to Josie about her stalking and she agrees to put it behind them

Betty is being a witch towards Veronica. After a musical number, she goes off on Veronica, telling her that she is just like her character in the musical. Jughead films the whole thing as Betty and Archie talk about what she did. Then Barchie goes to sing the love ballad of their characters, and it's so awkward. Instead of them singing the entire song, Betty goes to Veronica and they make up after all that has been said. I don't like that they used this with a love ballad, but it was better than Barchie awkwardly performing it. Then Fred finds out about the car that Hiram gave Archie because Hiram went to Fred himself. There's more turmoil for those two. Then Kevin gets another message from the Black Hood saying this is his last chance to recast Carrie.

Cheryl will not back down from the musical, but her mother intervenes and says she can't participate as she technically needs parental consent. The musical continues on with Midge as the lead. Alice has a moment while rehearsing for Carrie's mother where she breaks down because she does not want Betty to leave her. They share a sweet moment and Betty has a plan to help her mother. Jughead is filming all the "inner dialogues" and its like The Office which I am not a fan of. Then Archie and Fred talk things out. Archie stands up to Hiram and gives back the car. Finally, some sense in that boy. I also get a cute Choni moment where Toni tells Cheryl not to back down. Also I gotta say that I love the smirks and looks that Jughead gives in all of this. Also, Fangs is a cutie as assistant director.

Hal comes with flowers for Betty and Alice because he wants to come back home. She says yes, but no more secrets. Hal is not Chic's father, they make up and I am okay with this. Then Archie gets a junk car so he can fix it up with his father for some bonding time like his dad did with him. I am not crying, you are. (EN: She definitely teared up a bit) During the musical, Cheryl dresses up like Carrie and goes to her mother. She threatens her that she will kill her if she does anything bad towards her and her nana again. She wants to be emancipated and live with Nana Rose. She tells her mother that she wants her and her uncle out. I live for that scene as it is the best Cheryl moment ever.

FP sees that Hal and Alice are back together, so he leaves all sad. Jughead is backstage, checking up on everyone and finds that Ethel has cut up magazines. She denies it quickly and pushes him out of her dressing room. Then the Core Four, minus Jughead, tell Chuck that he has been a complete gentleman, and it's nice to see. The play begins with Alice starting her song and everyone is confused when Midge doesn't join in. We find Midge stabbed to death onstage and people only realize it's real when Alice screams.

So now the Black Hood is back and let's see how that goes. Also Jughead running to Betty made me happy. Overall, not the best episode and I was not a fan of the musical scene, but the wholesome moments I got from characters that are not the best made me happy.

S02 E19: Chapter Thirty-Two: Prisoners

We start with Midge's funeral with Cheryl and the rest of the Vixens ready to find the killer. There are also multiple interrogations going on while the sheriff tries to figure out who is the killer or if the Black Hood is even really back. Everyone thinks it's Chic, but Betty shuts that down. Also the sheriff is not in a good place right now. Everyone hates him. The cute Bughead scene I got was amazing and I love it.

Archie wants Fred to leave town to be safe. Chic is going to be interrogated, so Alice is going to help him. This leads Betty and Jughead to suspecting something's up, so they go to see the Sisters. That's when they find out that Chic is not really Chic. Cheryl and Hermione talk and Hermione is going to write a editorial on the Sheriff. Once Betty and Jughead find out about Chic, they go straight to Betty's house demanding answers and revealing to Alice that he is not in fact Chic. He goes for the knife, cuts Alice, and Betty knocks him out. (EN: Cause she's a boss!) Amazing scene. Archie goes to Mr. Svenson's house and gets beat up by three men dressed as the Black Hood. We find out that it's Nick St. Clair and his friends that took him.

Kevin is livid about what Cheryl wrote about his dad and now fully realizes that Cheryl is out for blood. The Lodges will not pay the ransom and since the St. Clairs are mobsters, there is nothing to do. Veronica then takes what money she can and meets with Nick. Chic reveals that he is not Charles and that Alice turned the real Charles down causing him to subsequently OD. This causes Alice to freak out and she drives over to FP's place in a panic. She reveals to him that Charles was his son, and she never told him. WHAT THE HELL?! WHY THOUGH?! It's Gossip Girl all over again. Not happy, but I saw it coming. Then Betty gets a call from the Black Hood and the Lollipop song is happening again. WHY?!

Archie is still with Nick who tells him that he is going to kill him. Nick also states that the only way he will get out of this is if Veronica sleeps with Nick. WHY AGAIN?! Betty and Jughead try to figure out if Chic is telling the truth about the OD and they find out from his neighbors that he isn't. He even might have been the one to kill Charles. Betty gets another call from the Black Hood and he wants Chic. FP comes in and drags Jughead away from attacking Chic. I gotta say, I love Jughead punching Chic.

FP wants Jughead away from Chic saying he will not let him down that path. Betty and Alice try to come up with a way to get rid of Chic. Nick and Veronica meet and Archie is watching through a camera on a laptop. Archie breaks free in anger and literally runs across town to her. She already drugged Nick by the time he gets there. Still happy day. Alice tells Hal everything while Betty sneaks down to Chic and holds a gun to him and it's Grundy's gun. She tells him that she is going to set him free which she does, but she also gives him over to the Black Hood. She tells Chic to get a head start, telling him in a dead tone how his chances of survival dwindle the longer he waits. He starts running and the Black Hood goes after him. Betty really has lost it at this point and she needs help now. This is almost a complete turn around from her original character.

Veronica gets the ransom money from the St. Clairs and shoves it into her parents' faces. Hiram and Archie are now set to get the Black Hood. Betty comes home and Alice asks about her and Chic. Betty says she sent him to the bus station. Then she asks where Hal is and it is revealed that he went out looking for her. So dun dun DUN: Hal might be the Black Hood. Also the Sheriff is out of his job.

One of the best episodes of the season. Finally some answers!(EN: I beg to differ... People only liked it because they were haphazardly thrown answers that they'd already guessed) Bughead had cute moments. We finally find out who Chic really is. The only problem was Betty going off the deep end and Nick.

S02 E20: Chapter Thirty-Three: Shadow Of a Doubt

Betty now thinks that Hal is the Black Hood and is dying to find out if she's right. Archie is going house to house to find the Black Hood as he "campaigns for his father". Veronica is going through courtships of the mobsters' sons as they now see Veronica as a possible ally. Betty tells Cheryl her theory and she gives her advice on how to handle the game. The stupid (insert color of the week) Circle is back as they go after the Black Hood. We find out that Midge was two timing Moose with one of the Serpents, so the Bulldogs go after the Serpents yet again. Jughead and Archie break them up, but there is another war coming. Also the Serpents have the Ghoulies on their tail again, so they are bringing plot points from part A that suck back in the final episodes. Great...

It turns out Fangs was hooking up with Midge. Sorry, Kevin. Veronica goes through all the suitors strategically and rejects all except one. Archie and Jughead go to the new Sheriff to understand him as Jughead gets some footage back. Archie also finds out from a mobsters' son that some of the mobsters are looking for revenge. Betty finds evidence against her father. Then the coroner calls her and asks her to identify a body. Then Fred gets a message from the Black Hood saying that he is next.

The mayoral campaign is still going on even with the threat. The corpse is not Chic, and Betty realizes that she is messed up and she is really the killer if he does end up dead. Betty finally tells her parents about what the Black Hood has done to her and she even tells them about Chic. Hal then confesses that he also has a darkness and that they need each other. Everyone finds out what Fangs was hiding and the police go after him. Archie is watching out for the Black Hood again, and his dad and him finally talk out their problems. Then we see Reggie and the stupid Bulldogs go to the Whyte Worm as they put on hoods and pull out knives to slash tires.

Jughead is mad about what the Bulldogs did, but Archie knew nothing about it. Josie's mom is representing Fangs as he is being held for possessing a weapon at school. Hiram now runs the Black Circle. Betty and Cheryl go after Hal again as they break into his hotel. They find the Nancy Drew book that the Black Hood used with her. Veronica is trying to help her father with getting in with another family. Hiram wants nothing to do with it. We go to the debate and while Hermione is roasting Fred, the Black Hood shows ups and starts shooting. Everyone is safe, but now we know that Hal is not the Black Hood since he goes and covers Betty.

Archie is going to stay with his dad even though he could go after the Black Hood. Fangs is still in jail and a lot of people do not want him out. Hermione is shaken up about what happened. Veronica confronts her father about everything. He still has an upper hand on her though since she's a minor and he controls her money access. Betty then confronts her father and she asks him if he is the Black Hood which he denies. Hiram has Reggie under his thumb and he tells Reggie that Fangs is getting out of jail. This leads Reggie to go after him. Veronica is done supporting her family and goes to the Andrews and pledges her support. Then we get a Varchie sex scene. Jughead goes to his dad about Fangs and we see Joaquin helping out his dad. THE BABY IS BACK! I CAN'T! So happy about the bean. Betty looks distressed as she looks at a hood and calls her father, telling him to meet her where it all began, so she can uncover the truth.

Everyone is after Fangs, and Betty is ready for her father. As Fangs gets let out, the Serpents have his back. As they go through the crowd, Reggie tries to go after him, but Archie stops him. Then a gun goes off and we find Fangs was shot in the stomach. I don't know if it's from the gun Reggie has or from another angle. (EN: Reggie's gun was too low to make the shot...) We end the episode with the Black Hood showing up at Cheryl's door. Not my baby! Really, why? No, no, no!

This episode was not as bad as part A, but gave me plenty of vibes from it. They brought back bad story plots, but they fixed some, like how Archie is redeeming his character's stupidity. Betty is still on the fence with her games, but next week we have the Ghoulies back and Penny, so I will be screaming next week.

S02 E21: Chapter Thirty- Four: Judgment Night

It starts right where we left off. Cheryl runs upstairs and grabs her archery stuff to shoot the Black Hood in the shoulder. (EN: It was really hot...) Yas, my queen. Jughead and the Serpents bring Fangs to the hospital. The whole town is in a riot. The Serpents think that Reggie shot Fangs, but it was really Mrs. Klump that did it. Archie, Moose and Kevin are trying to find Reggie, and Jughead is on his way to get the Serpents off the Bulldogs' back. Betty hears from Cheryl before going to her mother at the Register to help her write about the riot. Veronica is still at the Andrews' with Fred, but Andre picks her up and she is the one to find out that it was Midge's mom that shot Fangs. Hermione then places a million dollar bounty on the Black Hood. She states that he's wanted dead or alive, but preferably dead.

Betty is trying to get to her dad who she thinks is the Black Hood before someone else does. Veronica is upset that her parents set the bounty. Archie and the others meet Sweet Pea and the Serpents at the high school where they almost fight, but Weatherbee shuts them down. Archie tells Jughead that Klump did it and to get the Serpents under control which he does. Betty finds out from FP that her dad is in the hospital, but she does not know why yet. Veronica tries to find her money that her parents were going to use, but instead she finds pictures of her mom and Fred proving that Hiram is out for Fred. Archie goes to Pop's for Reggie since he is broken up about everything and that's when the Ghoulies show up. This mess just got a whole lot bigger. Also where is my Bughead?

It's the Holy Trinity that saves the day. As Archie begins to try and drive off the Ghoulies, Fred, Kevin's dad, and FP show up and save the day. The Dad Bod Squad. Jughead has an hour before the Serpents go off on their own for justice. Veronica shows her mother everything that Hiram has on her and Fred. Betty goes to the hospital and finds the doctor dead. She gets a call from the Black Hood that she needs to go home under the threat her mom is in danger. She goes home and Alice is fine. Hal is okay with only a small bit of red on his shoulder as evidence of his wound, but he is acting strange. Jughead gets a call from Penny and she wants to meet up. He originally says no, but she threatens Toni and not Betty. Now he has to go save Toni even though she is yelling at him not to. (EN: I did notice there was a severe lack of Toni up to this point.) Why are both my babies Bughead and Choni getting messed up?

Turns out that Hal is indeed the Black Hood which is no surprise. The wound really shows up and he goes on to tell the story about the Conways. It turns out that great Pappy Cooper killed the Blossoms, not the other way around. He confesses everything except he insists that it was someone else at the debate. Another Black Hood shows up at the Andrews' and attacks them during this. Fred gets shot again but he is wearing a bulletproof vest this time courtesy of Kevin's dad. We're back to Hal who goes on more about his reasons for doing all this. He is making Alice record everything because he wants to kill all of them. Papa Poutine's son shows up at the Lodges and goes after Hermione and Veronica to get back at Hiram. Hermione is smart and shoots him three times, killing him. (EN: RIP Andre, you were too good for the Lodges...) Jughead goes to Penny and she has the Ghoulies with her. Turns out Jughead was actually smart for once and brought Cheryl and her bow as backup. Penny wants the Southside handed over and if not then the Ghoulies and the Serpents will fight to the death. Jughead tells the others and they want to fight them because they refuse to give up their home. FP comes in and tells the news that Fangs has died. Why the poor bean? He raises the vote on what to do and only Jughead does not want to fight the Ghoulies. Overall, I am now scared for Jughead's safety. (EN: Because he's a reckless bean

Alice starts to try to provoke Hal, distracting him so that Betty can attack him. She hits him in the head as he begins to strangle her mother. Then Alice hits him again. Jughead and FP fight about what is going on. After FP leaves, Jughead puts it all together including how Hiram paid Penny and the Ghoulies to fight with the Serpents because they would not give Hiram the Southside willingly. He calls Hiram and makes a deal with him. Hal is arrested, but Archie tells Betty about how the man who attacked them was also dressed like the Black Hood. That's when Jughead calls Betty to tell her he loves her, he always will, and that he will see her soon. So basically my heart is in half.

Jughead goes to Penny and gives himself over in exchange for the Serpents and then they start to beat him. Penny also cuts off his tattoo. I AM CRYING! NOT MY BABY! Betty calls FP, understandably worried about Jughead. FP goes looking for him and finds him. Cheryl, Toni and the Serpents go to find both of them. Archie and Betty are with them and as FP comes from the woods, you see Betty's shocked face. Jughead brutally beaten body is in his arms and he may even be dead. His tattoo is cut off and I am not okay. Betty is horrified as we end the episode on Jughead's face. WHY, WHY , WHY, WHY?! WHAT DID HE DO TO DESERVE THIS?! I am crying and I am not okay.

Great episode and finally plot points are lining up. We have one Black Hood still out there and in the trailer for next week we see Betty, Archie, and Veronica at a grave. It better be Fangs and Jughead is in the hospital because if they kill Jughead, I don't know what I will do. That is killing off one of my favorite characters and destroying Bughead. The only plus side to the finale is that in the trailer Cheryl has her own Serpent jacket. (EN: This episode did better since it was actually fast paced for once as opposed to lingering on certain plot points for far too long. It's by far, my favorite.)

S02 E22: Chapter Thirty- Five: A Brave New World

(EN: Due to severe technical difficulties, this may seem more all over the place...)

The episode starts right away with Betty, Archie, and Veronica standing in front of Jughead's grave. Betty is crying, talking about how their story is not over. Then Jughead wakes up and is in the hospital. MY BOY IS ALIVE! FP is there and is so happy that his son woke up. (EN: He looks way less injured than he realistically should be) He tells Jughead that the Serpents were wiped out by the Ghoulies and Hiram Lodge pretty much won. Sunnyside Trailer Park is gone, only their trailer stands. He also reveals that Fangs is actually alive and that the deputy lied to them so the Serpents would fight. Then Betty is with Jughead in the hospital and he now knows everything that happened with her father and he wishes he had been there for her. She is supportive of him and he is for her. They will not leave each other's sides. They also share a cute kiss. MY BABIES ARE BOTH FINE! Everyone visits Jughead and they all agree Hiram is at fault for the riot and everything that went down. We go to Cheryl who is finally emancipated. She goes to rub it in her mother's face only to find her uncle, mother, and Hiram all together talking. Then the Coopers are being harassed about Hal, and Betty thinks that she is evil.

Betty will not go to school because of what her father did. Jughead calls to see if she is okay. They share an 'I love you' moment and my heart is happy. Archie is called in to identify Hal for being the Black Hood. That's when he tells the corrupted sheriff that there is another Black Hood out there as well. Betty apologizes to Fred about her father and feels ashamed. Fred, being the bean he is, is not mad at Betty and says she should not beat herself up for this. She thinks that she is responsible and that it's her fault. Kevin finds Moose crying in the bathroom and we find out that all of Midge's stuff was trashed in the riot. Like a good person, Kevin consoles him, Moose understands and now knows that he does like Kevin. They kiss, Moose initiating it. (EN: I'm not removing this cause she may be right, but I will say he likely does this out of grief more than anything and it will cause drama later on) Been waiting for this, but not the best time. Reggie and Josie officially withdraw from the election and we find out that the Southside kids are being transferred to a different school that's about two hours away. Cheryl then tells Veronica what she saw and to take action quick. Veronica goes to her father and now sees that she has to do something to stop him. Jughead goes to the Whyte Wyrm and sees that the Serpents who are now without homes and cannot afford a place, are staying there. Betty is still upset and hates her father as she talks with Archie and Veronica. Then we see FP drinking again after he was fired by Hiram. (EN: He was doing so well...) FP wants out of Riverdale and knows that the Serpents are done. He wants him and Jughead to leave Riverdale and go to Toledo. Jughead however refuses to leave Betty and the Serpents.

Mrs. McCoy is helping the Andrews with the election as it is coming to a close. They need to get the Southside to the booths to win. Sheriff Minetta tells Archie that they caught the other Black Hood and he is dead. It was Tall Boy. I KNEW IT FROM THE SEASON 1 FINALE! He was working for Hiram, but the police do not know that. (EN: If this is what Riverdale is sticking with, it's rather cheap writing) Polly is back and she wants to forgive her father for everything that has happened. Betty will not go and see her father, and Alice is still not alright with everything, saying if she's going then it's to give him a piece of her mind. Hermione tells Veronica that Hiram was in fact behind the shooting at the town hall and she tells her what his next move is as well. He plans to buy the Whyte Wyrm so as to have all of the Southside. Hermione advises Veronica to buy it first, so she has the upper hand. Veronica brings in McCoy and gets her money back that her father had taken from her. Cheryl plans to bring sweets to Toni and the Serpents at the Whyte Wyrm when her mother confronts her, upset about her not being in her custody anymore. Cheryl is now in the care of her Nana Rose. Penelope is upset and tries to stop her from going to Toni. She does give her the heads up that there is going to be a raid at the bar. Finally this woman is being nice. (EN: It was weirdly out of character...) Cheryl goes and warns Jughead and Archie. They get there in time and everyone is forced out, only taking what they can carry. They all sneak out right before the cops get there.

They go to the Andrews for shelter and they house and feed all of them. FP sees this the next morning and Jughead tells him that he will not be leaving Riverdale. Archie and Jughead are in good graces again. Friendship restored. Archie then leads all the students against Weatherbee forcing the Southside kids out by getting everyone to wear Serpent jackets. Everyone will walk out unless he allows them to stay, fine with being expelled if it means an unfair school. Weatherbee relents and tells everyone to get to class. Toni and Cheryl have an adorable moment that implies Cheryl will get her own jacket soon. Veronica and Jughead talk about the leverage that Veronica will have on her father. She buys the Whyte Wyrm and makes a deal that she will trade it for Pop's which she found out from Jughead her father had bought . He will comply, but only if she agrees to be cut off from everything including her credit cards, allowance, and seat on the board. (EN: What person gives a 16 year old a seat on a board in the first place???) Then I get what I think is one of the best moments since season one. Betty and Jughead are with the twins and Betty starts saying how she is evil and that what if one of the twins end up evil as well. This is in their blood and they cannot escape it. Jughead tries to tell her that she is not, but she keeps going on about it. He holds her and looks her in the eye telling her that he knows her and that she is a great person, not an evil one. He asks her if she believes him and he won't let her go until she says yes. Finally I get a scene with communicating and supportive Bughead that I have been waiting for all season.

Voting for school elections start and we see Fred and Hermione glance at each other and that could easily mean something more. Betty is still not at school, but Jughead says that she will be fine. Betty goes and talks to Hal where he keeps saying that she is just like him. A weird scene happens and the atmosphere is off. (EN: The scene was shot in a very unpleasant manner) Betty tells him that she is done with the darkness. She is saying goodbye to him and that she will be nothing like him. Good for her, but she still needs help. (EN: They also made the moment incredibly cliche with using the same lines every character says to someone that was controlling them) We find out that Archie and Veronica won the election and he is now the student body president. Also the Southside kids are officially staying at Riverdale. The Serpents throw a party to celebrate where FP announces that he is stepping down for real this time and is retiring from the Serpents as well. He then gives the reins over to Jughead as the new leader which he accepts so now he is the official Serpent King. Cheryl is then made a Serpent and Jughead gives her a special red Serpent Jacket. (EN: Cause Cheryl must look the best) What a wonderful scene. My happiness, I love it. Betty tells Alice that she will be okay and that they need to move forward. Fred gets the call that he unfortunately lost the race and Hermione is the new mayor. She shows up at his house and says they are on good standing because it was a close race. Then we have Archie at the Lodges where he threatens Hiram that he will take him down. He also has a knife with him. He says he will bring down Hiram for what he did to his dad, Jughead and everyone in Riverdale. He will stop at nothing to bring him down. He then proceeds to stab the desk. (EN: What even was this scene?)

The core four are at a booth at Pop's and have a plan. Since Veronica now owns Pop's, she found out that the basement used to be a speakeasy. She wants to reopen it and have a place where the Serpents and everyone can feel at home. She also wants FP to manage it. I am so hype for them bringing the 20s to Riverdale with flappers. This is my favorite era, so I love this. Also Bughead is being cute as heck. As this is happening, Hiram is planing the downfall of Riverdale with his own gang of the Blossoms, the Ghoulies, Penny, Sheriff Minetta. He plans to take down Riverdale. The drugs are back and the fighting will continue. It turns out that Jughead was also not breathing when Penny left, so I want her to die. (EN: THIS ALSO MEANS HE SHOULD LOOK FAR MORE INJURED AND NOT BE WALKING ABOUT THIS EASILY AT LEAST THEY REFERENCED FANGS STILL BEING HURT)

Then we have the ending to the season. Polly suggests someone that can come help her mother and she will bring him to her. I do not trust Polly and this is very shady. Then we have my OTP! Jughead booked a room at a nice hotel for the two of them. So we finally have another Bughead sex scene. They are being all cute and fluffy and this is where Jughead asks her to join the Serpents and be his queen. I am not okay! I have been reading fan fictions about this for a year now and I finally get it in canon. Betty is reluctant to say yes, but he teases her that she can tell him tomorrow. They then start to make out again and I'm happy. Jughead is also narrating that it was a foolish question for two young people in love. I still love it and I know that Betty will become a Serpent. Then comes the final minutes. As an assembly is going on for the new student body president, Josie is singing the national anthem when the police show up. Before this everything was finally in place. The police go straight to Archie where they arrest him for the murder of the guy that attacked them while they were at the cabin. This was Hiram's plan to get Archie in trouble so that the whole town will crumble.

We end this terrible season with an episode that gives a lot, but we still have so many questions.

Summary:

Overall, I give part B an 8 out of 10. It was so much better then part A. We got answers to questions that left us hanging in the first half of the season. I did go into the new episodes with worry that it would be like part A and some were but others were not. Characters did start to act like themselves again and we did see growth. We did not see enough Kevin, Toni, or the Pussycats like we were promised, so I am not happy about that.
The events before part B were fixed right away with the Barchie kiss coming out into the open fast which was nice, but the way they handled it could have been better, Also the Black Hood stuff going away really fast but then coming back in the last five episodes was a little weird. I think they should have written that story arc better, but when the Black Hood did come back, it was not like part A and was written better. The whole story about Betty's brother needs to be fixed in season 3. They built so much on it and threw another murder in the mix that will totally come up again. They ended the season without clarification on what happened to Chic and we know that Betty's real brother is probably alive. (EN: I beg to differ...) I feel like the other murder was added to fill in the space where the Black Hood story line was.
The whole Hiram story line went downhill fast and I did not like it the whole season. The direction they took with the Lodges and Archie was off and did not fit in with the show. Everything did fall into place in the last two episodes with Hiram being responsible for everything that was bad in Riverdale besides the original Black Hood and Chic.
Now the biggest plot point of season 2 was the Black Hood. After the musical, he did come back and we finally got the answer of who he was and why he did it. We all saw it coming and it was not shocking, but Betty should not have had to go through that. I was right on the second Black Hood that was around and I am happy that I was right. This whole Black Hood thing was not good coming off of the Blossom murder. We do not need back to back murder mysteries.
The characters did improve like I said above. Archie was so deep into the Lodges business and finding the Black Hood that I feel like they lost his character a little. I want them to bring back some stuff from season one that makes him who he is even if he has grown. By the end, I did like Archie. Veronica had to go against her father so much, but since she now knows what to do, I am excited to see what she does in season 3. Jughead and the Serpents went through so much that it's hard to put into words. I feel like there are two Jugheads on this show: season 1 and then season 2. I want them to merge the two a little more. By the end, we see that, but in the first half and a little after he still was not right. I do have high hopes for this boy with being the Serpent King. Cheryl, being the wonderful character that she is, had her demons but is now happy after all the horrible things that she went through, including conversion therapy. I am happy with her where she is at.
The parents were the same overall. Alice got a whole lot better and I love her. Fred got justice and is a bean. We all hate Hal, Hiram and Penelope still. FP is wonderful even with his issues from time to time. Mrs. McCoy is way better as a lawyer, and Hermione, at the end, redeemed herself and is not as bad as before.
The side characters like Toni and the rest of the Serpents shined through and I love all of them. I still want more Kevin and I like the way his story is going. We still should see the others a lot more.
Now onto my girl, Betty. Lili did a fantastic job this season. With everything that Betty has been through, she need therapy and a lot of help. With the Black Hood, Chic, her brother, murders, the Serpents, her mother, and herself ,she went through too much this season. Even at the end, you can see her breaking still. She still thinks she is evil and in season 3, I know that her darkness will come back, but they need to start helping her and give this girl a break. I love her, but she was so up and down this season.
My Bughead was reunited and I am happy with how they left off. I really hope Betty becomes the Serpent Queen. I wish there was more. I don't feel the same connection we got in season one, but with everything that they have been through, I understand. They will hopefully be great in season 3, I know it. I also got a new ship: Choni. I love Toni and Cheryl's relationship and it helped this season out a lot. I cannot wait to see what season 3 brings.
The questions I have for season 3 areas follows. What happened to Chic? What will they do to Hal? Finally, how will Archie get out of the mess he is in? We will go into season 3 with the Hiram story arc and the mess he has created. I am not that excited about it, but hopefully it will be a good story line. There are still some plot holes and I hope that they will fix them. Season 3 will hopefully be better then season 2 and I hope the writers go back to the roots of season 1.  I am excited to see more of the other characters and the Core Four being teenagers. I am also so excited to see what Veronica does with the speakeasy. Now I just have to wait until fall for season 3.

What did you guys think of this season? Did it fall flat or did you like the story line they had? Was season one better? Let me know cause I love to converse Riverdale with you all.
