Lets Talk About Fall 2020 Couture

With fashion shows not being held because of covid, brands are thinking of new ways of showing collections and finding a new direction for the future. Brands have been talking about this for months in how the production of a collection and the outcome of one would be shown. With couture coming out last week, we saw a new side to present shows. These have been done of course, but also with a show. From fashion films to just simple photos of the garments, to even just sketches of the garments, each designer is taking a new way of showing fashion.

I usually do my favorite collections, however, this time I will be sharing the most interesting ways designers showed their couture line and the outcome they had. 

Christian Dior 

This collection pushed the limits of fantasy with their fashion film. 

I found it to be refreshing as well as interesting to how they displayed all of the garments. 

Victor & Rolf

They only created a few garments for the photos this year. 

Each garment really stands out on its own and showcases a wild factor. 

Chanel

Chanel took the route of showcasing the collection with greyscale and color photos. 

All shots of the garments are different and it focuses on the essence rather than the garments itself. 

Balmain

They took the traditional route of a fashion show, but just made it private and only have photos. 

They did interesting shots of the garments but still had all the models walking around and posing away. I find this an interesting way to showcase the line. 

Schiaparelli

They did both, a fashion film that included all the illustrations being created. 

I found it refreshing just to see what they wanted the garment to look like rather than the actual thing. With covid, I think this was a beautiful way to show a collection.
