Top Male TV Characters
I am a huge TV nerd and have many favorite characters. I am usually a fan of powerful female leads, but there are some shows that the male characters are the best and I love them to death. These characters make the show worth it and are either cool or funny. I am only picking one from each show though to make it fair. Enjoy my favorite male TV characters.
Honorable Mentions:
Both of these are from my friends Amelia and Alix.
Sherlock Holmes: BBC Sherlock
Rory Williams: Doctor Who
15. Glenn Rhee: The Walking Dead
I miss this bean. One of the best characters on TWD and I still hate how he died. He was funny, and watching him grow up through the seasons made my heart ache. He always tried to see the best in people and just wanted to make a life in the world they lived in. Unfortunately, after what happens with Negan, he did not make it after being captured and will never see his child being born. After his death, the show lost me completely, and watching the rest of the season was hard. I am still not over his death.
14. Sweets: Bones
Another one to be missed. After being introduced in season 3, this character was a great addition. He was such a cute little dork, and was a major shipper of Bones and Booth. He is so innocent, and a naive buttercup that should have been protected. He was funny, smart, and cute. However, in season 10, the actor wanted to leave the show. They killed off Sweets and I still cry at the scene. One of the best on that show.
13. Rafael Solano: Jane the Virgin
I have been Team Rafael since season 1. I love how he went from Bad Boy Millionaire to sweet father in just season 1. He has been through so much with cancer, accidental insemination, prison, getting his hotel back, etc. Another reason to love him is how sweet and passionate this man really is. He love his children and will do anything for them. The motivation he gives Jane is the cherry on top to this that makes him a sexy in all ways character.
12. Jax Teller: Sons of Anarchy
This character is the definition of BAMF. He takes his life that he has and makes a difference once his son, Abel, is born. He tries to put Sam Crow back to its former glory like his father did when they created the club. He wants what is best for his family and will do anything for them. He is hard on the outside, but underneath is a caring father, husband, son, and friend. Another death I am not over with as he dies the same way his father did, to protect his sons and for them to start a new life.
11. Klaus Mikaelson: The Vampire Diaries/Originals
I was never a big fan of TVD until I saw the spin-off show, The Originals. This character has another great story arc and you get to see how many troubles he has faced in the 1,000 years he has been alive. He will do anything to get what he wants, but mostly for the benefit of his family. When he is doing something bad, you cannot help but laugh at his sarcastic comments before he rips someone's heart out. He is definitely an anti hero, but I still love him.
10. Tyrion Lannister: Game Of Thrones
He went from a drunk man who did nothing with his life to the hand of a queen. He is witty, sarcastic, and a complete jerk most of the time. He is likely to be extremely drunk but is very honest at the same time. One of the best on this show, and if they kill him off, people will riot. I cannot wait to see what happens in the last season with this character.
9. Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III: Dragons Race to the Edge
He was not originally a TV character, but he has to be on this list. We all know I love HTTYD, so of course I love the TV show too. He is funny, adventurous, and brave in his own way. He is a cute little bean that is so smart and you do not even realize it half the time. He is a leader and a born chief who stands up for what he believes in.
8. Chandler Bing: Friends
The best character on Friends! He is so funny. There are no words to describe just how he makes this show so amazing.
7. Eugene Fitzherbert: Tangled The Series
Another character that came from a movie first, but I love him. He's so funny, charming, and, underneath his vanity, is so sweet and caring. He is not like other Disney "princes" and is smart and resourceful. He will do anything for Rapunzel because he loves her so much.
6. Jamie Fraser: Outlander
How can a man be so beautiful and sweet? His past does not define him, and will do anything to be back with the love of his life, Claire. As a warrior, farmer, fugitive, and printer, he is a man of many talents. While he truly does love Claire and at times worships the ground she walks on, he also is very willing to tell her when she's being selfish and completely unbearable.
5/4. Zuko and Steve Harrington: Avatar the last Airbender/ Stranger Things
I had to tie these two because I love them equally, and they are a bit alike in ways. Zuko is my favorite character in ATLA, and his story arc is developed very well. In season one, he is the villain and will do anything to go back to the fire nation. After everything he goes through, he sees what is truly good, and goes with the avatar to defeat his father. He is such a sassy, whiny ball of angst who has a thing for dramatic exits. He is funny and sarcastic in the best way.
Steve Harrington is the mom. In season 1, I did not like Steve, but then, in season 2, he is a wonderful bean, and a mother to all of his children, especially Dustin. He goes from high school jock to being there for the kids when everything goes wrong. Also, when he tried to get Nancy back, I held back the tears because he is so sweet. I like Nancy with Johnathan personally, but Steve deserves someone who is better for him. He is too good for this world and we all love him.
3. Eric Northman: True Blood
God Bless Eric Northman. He is the best of True Blood. He is so bad, but so deliciously good at the same time. His dry sarcastic moments are what I live for and he makes the show fantastic. His story arc is also great when he falls for Sookie, but he's still the same old Eric. Yes, he is a complete jerk, but he has his adorable moments that you cannot help but fall for.
2. Forsythe Pendleton Jones the Third (Jughead): Riverdale
How do I put this into words? I LOVE JUGHEAD JONES! LEAVE HIM ALONE! The first reason I started to watch Riverdale was because of Cole Sprouse. So when he plays a beautiful character that I love and adore, I just can't. He would be my number one since he is sweet, caring, funny, sarcastic, and a loner boy who will do everything for Betty, but season 2 Jughead makes me mad. We all know why so I won't go into it, but this boy has some problems he needs to fix. He is sexy as hell as a Serpent, but needs to go back to the way he was before them. Also communication is key so talk to Betty and I will be happy. Let's see what happens on Wednesday.
1. Stiles Stilinski: Teen Wolf
He is one of the only reasons I watched Teen Wolf. He is a sarcastic little string bean, and he made the show great. He is always there to protect his pack, and is the main reason why most of them are still alive. He is the only one with any type of common sense and who does not think with sex on his mind. Quite honestly, he has not done anything stupid to make me scream at my TV. Also even as Void Stiles I love him and he was an amazing villain. Without Stiles' comedic timing and general good ideas, the show suffered through its last season. We didn't even get that much Stiles in the finale. I love him and I want more characters to be like him. Stydia and Sterek forever.
Friday will be the top songs of the month, so see you guys then.
